Local Guide

Ideally located in the heart of vibrant and creative East Oxford, Browns is convenient for all of Oxford’s local tourism as well as for Oxford University Colleges, Brookes campus, the Oxford hospitals, language schools and business parks. The area enjoys a perfect mix of the old and new; quality local pubs and artists’ studios, independent cafes and restaurants, monthly flea market and weekly food & vintage market, theatres and music venues, the Thames and the villages, the colleges and museums.

Here are some of our favourites ::

SILVIE – Our neighbourhood cafe on the ground floor aka ‘your new home’

Magdalen Arms – Incredible pub/restaurant voted no.37 of best UK gastro pubs.  Runs a great flea market on the first Saturday of the month.

The Chester – You never leave this place hungry; amazing Sunday roast and real local feel.

The Rusty Bicycle – Community pub with real ales, burgers and pizza.

Oli’s Thai – Small place with large following.  Their menu is simple yet exceptional meaning they can be booked up to 3 months in advance but worth it.
